LYPA seeks nominations for Rising Stars awards program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 14, 2012) — The Lexington Young Professionals Association (LYPA) is accepting nominations for its annual Rising Stars awards program, which honors young professionals who are emerging leaders in the community, both professionally and philanthropically.

The program accepts nominations from local community members and a diverse panel of community business professionals and leaders review the nominations and rate nominees based on specified criteria. Winners are selected based on judging panel results.

“Nominees should demonstrate a strong commitment to impacting the community in a positive manner through professional and non-professional service and achievement,” LYPA said. “Nominees must live or work in the Lexington area and be under the age of 40.”

Anyone can nominate a Rising Star. Click here to see the instructions and download a nomination form. All qualified candidates will be reviewed by the selected judging panel, and winners will be selected based on the results of this review of criteria including professional achievement, philanthropic achievement and community involvement.

The nomination deadline is Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. Winners will be notified on Monday, Sept. 10, and the awards ceremony is Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Malone’s Banquet Hall.

LYPA was formed in 2000 by eight young professionals who wanted to place an emphasis on personal, civic and professional development for people between the ages of 21 to 40. Its goals are to improve networking opportunities; retain young talent in Lexington; establish an economic voice for Lexington’s young professionals; create a more diversified base of social activities; and provide philanthropic opportunities for members.
