Baptist Health La Grange opens expanded emergency department

LA GRANGE, Ky.— Baptist Health La Grange celebrated the completion of a $5.8 million renovation and expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning. The project includes more than 4,000 s.f. of new space and an overhaul of the existing facility.

Baptist Health La Grange is the only hospital in Oldham County and serves patients in Henry, Trimble, Shelby and eastern Jefferson County.

“Our goal with this renovation was to give patients the best experience possible during what might be the most difficult day of their life,” said Clint Kaho, president of Baptist Health La Grange.

Patient input was top-of-mind throughout the design process. The finished space houses 12 all-private treatment rooms, which are bright, spacious and calming. Natural light is incorporated throughout, along with additional restrooms and two new treatment bays to fast-track low-acuity patients. The lobby and EMS vestibule have also been revamped.

The ER stayed open throughout the project, which launched in January 2020, and finished on-schedule despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
