McNeill named EKPC’s Director of Legislative and Government Relations

WINCHESTER, Ky. — Jena McNeill has joined East Kentucky Power Cooperative as Director of Legislative and Government Relations. She began her duties on Aug. 9.

McNeill, who formerly served as a key staff member for U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, will represent the interests of EKPC and its 16 owner-member electric cooperatives in legislative matters before federal, state, and local governments.

“Jena offers a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise in managing legislation,” said Ann Bridges, EKPC’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. “She will play an important role in helping to represent and safeguard the interests of the 1.1 million Kentucky residents and businesses served by EKPC’s 16 owner-member electric cooperatives.”

As Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy/Legislative Director for Sen. Ernst, McNeill served as a key strategic adviser, managing 13 staff members. She was also a key advisor for Sen. Ernst’s 2020 re-election campaign.

McNeill also has served as Deputy Director of Homeland Security for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs.

Previously, McNeill served as Senior Director of Government Relations for the U.S. Travel Association and senior associate for the Chertoff Group.

McNeill received a law degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock School of Law, and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland.
