FRANKFORT, Ky. — Marni Rock Gibson has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA), the oldest international organization devoted to investor protection.

Gibson is Securities Division Director at Kentucky’s Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), which regulates securities activities in the state and protects investors from fraud.

“NASAA has protected investors, supported capital formation, and ensured the integrity and efficiency of financial markets for over 100 years,” said DFI Commissioner Charles A. Vice. “With the rapid pace of innovation and increased proliferation of individuals investing in various types of securities, the industry plays a significant role in the economy and in the lives of citizens of Kentucky. Marni is an experienced leader who will help further the association’s important work.”

Gibson has worked at DFI since 2009 and has served in a variety of leadership roles, including acting deputy commissioner. She earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and business administration with a finance emphasis from Transylvania University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve on the NASAA Board of Directors and continue its mission to protect investors while maintaining healthy markets,” Gibson said. “I look forward to representing Kentucky, the Department of Financial Institutions, and NASAA’s members on the national level.”

Elected by NASAA’s membership, Gibson will assume her new role on Sept. 21, 2021, after NASAA’s Annual Meeting in Chicago.
