Flights to San Francisco take off on Breeze Airways at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Breeze Airways begins nonstop service to San Francisco (SFO) from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF), marking a new milestone for Louisville to one of the West Coast’s most sought-after destinations. This provides easy, direct access between the region and one of the world’s top tech hubs.

“Today is a great day for Louisville and Breeze Airways,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “San Francisco has been a top target since I arrived in 2018 and it is great to celebrate even more air service options for our community and region. Breeze is a great partner for SDF and continues to expand with even more options for area travelers.”

San Francisco was the third-largest unserved market for SDF and flights are now taking off in time for summer travel. Flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays on Breeze’s brand- new Airbus A220. The Airbus A220 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft of its size. Breeze will continue to offer their Nice, Nicer and Nicest package bundles with a variety of options to suit any traveler’s needs from economy to first class.

Nonstop service to San Francisco coincides with Breeze Airways’ first anniversary of taking to the skies. Louisville was one of 16 launch cities across the country for the new airline in May 2021, founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman. Breeze has expanded their reach in recent months, now offering nonstop service on 90 routes in 31 cities in 18 states.

With the addition of San Francisco, Breeze now offers nonstop service to four cities from Louisville including Charleston (CHS), New Orleans (MSY) and Tampa (TPA).
