LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Leading up to its 2022 Greater Louisville Idea Development Expedition (GLIDE) to Jacksonville, Fla., Greater Louisville Inc. opened applications for attendee scholarships. The scholarships are generously sponsored by Dean Dorton and will be awarded to engaged members of the community to attend the three-day, two-night study mission focused on improving the community.
GLIDE is an annual executive program for regional business and community leaders, as well as elected officials. The 2022 trip to Jacksonville presented by Norton Healthcare will be the 37th event and will be held Sept. 21-23. The focus of this year’s trip is best practices for economic development and downtown revitalization.
The application is open to professionals from across the region – including entrepreneurs, regional business partners, next generation professionals, and individuals who want to make a difference in the community.
“A variety of perspectives and backgrounds are critical to the deep, community-focused conversations we have every year on GLIDE. We are offering these scholarships to help remove financial barriers for attendees who are passionate and ready to make a difference in our city,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “I encourage any business or community leader who can provide unique ideas and meaningful impact to apply for this year’s scholarship.”
The scholarships will cover $2,495 of the $2,995 registration cost, which includes transportation, lodging, meals, and programming. Applications are open now until July 31. All applications will be reviewed by an independent selection committee and both recipients will be notified by Aug. 8. Recipients will be chosen based on merit and their ability to bring unique and diverse perspectives to the GLIDE trip.
“This will be my third GLIDE trip and I understand how valuable the programming and connections are to my company and our community. It is a privilege to spend three days with like-minded and results-oriented leaders from across industries to address the most pressing problems facing our community,” said Lance Mann, assurance director of Dean Dorton. “Dean Dorton is honored to sponsor this year’s scholarships and to expand accessibility to the amazing content GLI brings to our business leaders each year.”
