YMCA announces new Alliance Executive Director

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Chris Francis, who has served as the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Chief Operating Officer for the past five years, has been named the new Kentucky/West Virginia Alliance Executive Director.

As the executive director of the Kentucky/West Virginia Alliance of YMCAs, Francis will be responsible for connecting with 24 YMCA associations and independent Ys across Kentucky and West Virginia.

Francis has previously served in various leadership roles for YMCAs in Ohio, Kentucky, and Iowa and has over ten years of experience as a YMCA CEO in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Francis holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Springfield College and a bachelor’s of health science from Campbell & Iowa State University. He has also served in the United States Navy.

“I believe fostering a dynamic team approach with a culture of diversity and inclusion leads to operational excellence. The YMCA of tomorrow will look completely different than the pre-COVID Y; I am excited about sharing my vision for the future as we continue to pivot as a preeminent state alliance to serve those who need us most in these uncertain times,” said Francis.

Kentucky and West Virginia YMCAs are located in Ashland (KY), Beckley (WV), Burlington (KY), Charleston, (WV), Clarksburg, (WV), Elkins (WV), Frankfort (KY), Ft. Thomas (KY), Glasgow (KY), Henderson (KY), Hopkinsville (KY), Huntington (WV), Lexington (KY), Louisville (KY), Madisonville (KY), Mayfield (KY), Maysville (KY), Morganfield (KY), Owensboro (KY), Paris (KY), Parkersburg (WV), Pikeville (KY), Richmond (KY), Scott Depot (WV), and Wheeling (WV).
