Keeneland superfecta pays a record $72,863

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Keeneland record payoff of $72,863.72 for a 10-cent superfecta wager occurred in the seventh race. The ticket, which swept the entire pool, was placed through NYRA Bets and cost only $18.

Keying the payoff was the win of 54-1 shot Fancy Martini, who is owned by Carl Moore Management and trained by Joe Sharp. James Graham was the winning rider. Completing the superfecta in order were 37-1 shot Barista, 48-1 shot Smarmy, and 4-1 shot Sister Lou Ann.

Keeneland’s previous high payoff superfecta for a dime was $27,228.80, established in the seventh race on October 18, 2014.
