Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Appointed Larry Hayes as a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisville Arena Authority Inc.

  • Larry Hayes of Louisville is retired. He replaces Thomas Liston, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 16, 2027.

Appointed Mike Berry as a member of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.

  • Mike Berry of Louisville is retired. He replaces James Gates, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending April 27, 2025.

Appointed Margaret Prim and Stephanie Renner as members of the Kentucky Arts Council. Reappointed Everett McCorvey as Chair.

  • Margaret Prim of Hopkinsville is the executive director of the Pennyroyal Arts Council. She replaces Lindsey Jaeger, whose term has expired and shall serve for a term expiring Nov. 18, 2026.
  • Stephanie Renner of Louisville is an attorney at Renner Law Group. She replaces Paul Fourshee, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Nov. 18, 2026.
  • Everett McCorvey of Lexington is a music performance and voice professor at the University of Kentucky and shall serve for a term expiring on Nov. 18, 2026.

Reappointed Althea Jackson, Ruth Lynch and Wanda Washington as Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission members.

  • Althea Jackson of Louisville is director of Louisville Metro Boards and Commissions and shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2026.
  • Ruth Lynch of Hopkinsville is retired and shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2026.
  • Wanda Washington of Campbellsville is assistant director of diversity, community, and Bridge to Success at Campbellsville University and shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2026.

Appointed Nathan Kent and William Todd Kelley as members of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.

  • Nathan Kent of Cadiz is the Chief of Police for the City of Mayfield. He replaces Michael Bosse, who no longer holds the position of chief of police and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 1, 2024.
  • William Todd Kelley of Ashland is the Chief of Police for the City of Ashland. He replaces Jeffrey Liles, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 1, 2024.

Appointed Stephanie Bell and Sherry Murphy as members of the Tourism Development Finance Authority. Reappointed Kimberly Huston and Sharon Potter.

  • Stephanie Bell of Lexington is vice president of government affairs at Windstream. She replaces Kathryn Stocks, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 19, 2027.
  • Sherry Murphy of Alvaton is the executive director of the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. She replaces Keith Williams, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 19, 2027.
  • Kimberly Huston of Bardstown is president of the Nelson County Economic Development Agency and shall serve for a term expiring on Jan. 31, 2027.
  • Sharon Potter of Louisville is a civic volunteer and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2027.

Appointed Meagan Brannon, Kelly Jones and Amy Smith as members of the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities.

  • Meagan Brannon of Germantown is the CEO of Sprinkles of Hope. She replaces Morgan Elliston, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 19, 2026.
  • Kelly Jones of Fort Thomas is a mental health therapist at Mainspring Wellness and Counseling. She replaces Laureen Vassil, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 19, 2026.
  • Amy Smith of Frankfort is an executive staff advisor at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She replaces Sherry Pickett, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 19, 2026.

Appointed Dr. Timothy Mullett as a member of the Lung Cancer Screening Advisory Committee.

  • Timothy Mullett of Lexington is the medical director at the Markey Cancer Center Affiliate Network.

Reappointed Mark Miracle as a member of the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.

  • Mark Miracle of Harlan owns Dynatech and shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2025.

Reappointed Francis Simpson and Sandy Stovall as members of the Kentucky Board of Barbering.

  • Francis Simpson of Elizabethtown is a barber at Hair Tech and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1 2026.
  • Sandy Stovall of Owensboro is a barber and the owner of Stovall’s Barber Shop and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2026.
