Taylor Motors travel, tour, charter operator appoints new CEO

Greg DeLancey, CEO, Taylor Motors

MURRAY, Ky. — Taylor Motors Inc., a leading transportation company providing travel, tours and charters across the southeast has named Greg DeLancey as CEO. An experienced leader, DeLancey will join CFO Charles Taylor to guide the company’s operations as it continues to expand its transportation services.

“I’m excited for the future of this company and our opportunities to continue growing and serving more customers,” said DeLancey, who joined the Murray, Ky.-based company in 2004 as human resources manager and has served as general manager since 2011. “With our top-notch fleet, our dedicated team and a strategic location close to several major markets, we’re poised for success.”

Taylor Motors Inc. owns a fleet of more than 200 vehicles, operating motorcoaches and shuttles out of Louisville, Ky., as well as a fleet of school buses in the southeastern U.S., including Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. In 2019, DeLancey oversaw the company’s successful acquisition of Shockey Tours, with the subsequent expansion of offerings and the opening of its Louisville facilities. Doing business as Jefferson Tours and Charters, the company offers organized travel across the United States and abroad, as well as charter and shuttle services for groups such as schools, sports teams, corporations, parties, and conventions.

“Greg’s experience and dedication to excellence make him one of our most valuable assets,” says Peggy Taylor, president of the family-owned business founded in 1957. “His vision for Taylor Motors mirrors the company’s founding values and I look forward to working with him to achieve that vision. His leadership is key to the success of our company as we move toward the future.”

DeLancey is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., with a BA in Communication and Radio-Television.
