FoodChain announces sixth annual FEAST!

LEXINGTON, Ky. — FoodChain proudly announces its Sixth Annual FEAST event. FEAST, a unique fundraiser geared towards impacting food insecurity, showcases culinary delights from the kitchens of some of the leading female chefs in the United States and leverages a star-studded lineup to bring about positive and long-lasting change for children, families, and individuals battling food insecurity. This year’s FEAST will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at Fasig-Tipton, featuring more than two dozen acclaimed national and local chefs.

All proceeds from FEAST benefit FoodChain, a Lexington nonprofit that forges links between the community and fresh food through education and demonstration of sustainable food systems. FoodChain’s aquaponics farm, food literacy education programs, and direct food access all increase the availability of locally sourced, fresh food for everyone.

“Ensuring access to an adequate and nutritious food supply is not just a matter of social responsibility; it is a fundamental human right,” said Co-Executive Directors Leandra Forman and Kristin Hughes. “In the face of rising global challenges, combating food insecurity becomes an imperative for the well-being of communities worldwide. Our commitment at FoodChain to eradicating hunger is not merely philanthropic; it is an investment in a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we must forge alliances, implement sustainable solutions, and empower communities to break the chains of food insecurity. This is not just a mission but a moral obligation that transcends borders and demands collective action.”
