MORGANTOWN, Ky. – Morgantown Bank is continuing its commitment to supporting local education and organizations through the Spirit Card program, donating $7,155.81 to local schools for the fourth quarter of 2023. Checks were presented this week to participating schools and programs in Morgantown and Bowling Green.

The Spirit Card program is a unique initiative that promotes education and school spirit with every transaction made using the School Spirit Debit Card.

Through this program, cardholders earn money for the school/program of their choice simply by choosing “credit” at check-out. Every donation triggers a donation to a school or program at no cost to the cardholder or school. The donation is paid quarterly to the school or program.

Since its inception in 2013, the School Spirit cards have played a crucial role in contributing to the betterment of area schools and programs. Through the collective efforts of the community, $300,425.76 has been raised to support various educational and community initiatives — $27,408.82 donated in 2023 alone.

“We are thrilled to witness the Spirit Card program’s positive impact on our local schools and community organizations over the years,” said Jason Jones, President and CEO of Morgantown Bank & Trust. “By empowering our community members to make a difference through their everyday transactions, we are reinforcing the importance of education and fostering a sense of pride in local communities.”
