Diversey OK’d for $2.5M in tax breaks for $97M manufacturing facility

Company employs 150 in Kenton County

FRANKFORT, KY. — Leading hygiene, infection prevention and cleaning solutions company, Diversey Inc. was approved for state tax incentives in the amount of $2.5 million in connection with its nearly $97 million manufacturing facility in Elsmere in Kenton County, Kentucky.

The maker of Lysol and a wide range of other products used in industry, hospitals and homes, Diversey Inc. is a company based in South Carolina that has been developing and delivering innovative products, services and technologies that protect and care for people for over 100 years. 

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) gave final approval at their February board meeting of a tax benefit that was initially considered in June 2021 to Diversey Inc..

According to information provided at the KEDFA meeting, the company is anticipating 150 jobs with an average wage of approximately $25 an hour, including employee benefits.

If Diversey Inc. can maintain this job target and wage over the course of 10 years, it will receive a total tax incentive of $2.5 million, that is $250,000 for each year.
