National Office Furniture, a manufacturer of wood casegood products, has announced plans to invest more than $4.5 million at its Fordsville manufacturing plant to implement “green” technology in its products and processes. National is implementing an ultraviolet (UV) light cure finish process for the application of its water-based UV finish, IntegraClear™, which will increase clarity and durability while enabling National products to meet strict indoor air quality requirements. The project will also eliminate the use of solvent-borne coatings and manual application of clear coat finish materials. National, a business unit of Kimball International Inc., currently employs a staff of 203 at its Fordsville facility.
