The North Nelson Water District Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved a proposal that will allow Louisville Water Co. (LWC) to supply drinking water to the District for the next 50 years. LWC already supplies 300,000 gallons of water daily to North Nelson through a wholesale contract. The new agreement calls for North Nelson to purchase a minimum of 500,000 gallons beginning in 2011 and then 750,000 gallons a day by 2016. In addition, LWC and North Nelson District are working together to fund improvements that will also make water available to an area in Bullitt County that is currently not served with a public water supply.
