Some 800 General Motors hourly employees in Bowling Green have been offered a buyout package worth $20,000 to $45,000 in cash plus a $25,000 car voucher. The buyout plan is part of GM’s strategy to lower its cost structure. Employees who accept the buyout will be replaced by new workers who will be working for lower wages.
