Dana Corp. has laid off 45 workers at its Henderson plant, where it assembles axles for medium- and heavy-duty commercial trucks. A company spokesman said the decision was the result of “reduced production requirements from customers.” The layoff affects approximately 10 percent of the Henderson facility’s workforce. Dana is also suspending production for the month of March at its plant in Owensboro, where it manufactures parts for Toyota’s assembly plant in Princeton, Ind. The suspension comes in response to Toyota’s decision to implement “nonproduction days” at its facilities in the United States and Canada in an effort to balance inventory and demand.
