Ten salaried employees have been laid off from the Pilgrim’s Pride chicken processing plant in Mayfield as the Texas company works to trim costs as part of its bankruptcy reorganization. The company employs some 1,500 workers at 36 facilities in the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico and has cut approximately 10 jobs at each location.
