Standard & Poor’s Corp. has moved specialty chemicals company Ashland Inc. from the S&P 500 index to its S&P MidCap 400 index. Ashland, which recently completed a merger with Hercules, a specialty additives company, posted a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $10 million.
