T.J. Samson Community Hospital has joined the University of Louisville Health Care’s remote physician presence robot network, which enables physicians at the University of Louisville to interact and converse with patients and medical staff at T.J. Samson. Using Internet access and a joystick, camera and the guidance of 360-degree infrared sensors, the physician can maneuver the robot through the hospital to a patient’s bedside and move the robot’s head to view vital signs on monitors and charts. UofL Health Care will offer a series of medical specialties to T.J. Samson, including neurology, pediatric and adult cardiology, neonatology, maternal fetal health, gastroenterology and endocrinology.
