Miners at the Carmeuse Lime Co. (formerly known as Dravo) in Maysville have voted in favor of representation by the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) union. According to a report by The (Maysville) Ledger Independent, the vote in late April was the fourth attempt by miners to attain union representation. The facility employs 148 workers who mine limestone used to manufacture lime for power plants in the Ohio River Valley.
