Small business loans approved by Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation

For Germantown and Shelby Park neighborhoods

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 29, 2016) — Two businesses were approved for loans in the amount of $112,580 by the Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation. The loans will leverage a total investment of $527,580 and will contribute to the ongoing revitalization of the Germantown and Shelby Park neighborhoods.

  • $62,580 façade loan to Urban Experience Housing, LLC, located at 1155 South Shelby St. The loan will allow owner Access Ventures to make extensive improvements to the storefront with new windows, doors, painting and other necessary improvements. Access Ventures plans to attract a restaurant to open on the first floor of the building and use the second floor as office space.
  • $50,000 METCO loan to Flexwell, LLC, located at 1201 Story Avenue, Suite 320. The loan will allow owners Tina Ray and Dustin Harryman to locate and operate a gym in the new Germantown Mill Lofts development. Initially, the business will hire two full-time employees and add more as gym membership increases. The gym will be open to area residents and will be the first gym in the Germantown neighborhood.
