Tempur Sealy’s Rick Anderson recognized by Anti-Defamation League

Rick Anderson

Rick Anderson, executive vice president, Tempur Sealy International and president, Tempur Sealy North America, received the Anti-Defamation League’s American Heritage Award at an event in New York City on June 14.

The award honors business leaders who in their careers and communities personify the ideals of this nation and spirit of the Anti-Defamation League.

Anderson joined Tempur Sealy International in 2006. As EVP and president, North America, Anderson is responsible for company business operations in the U.S. and Canada, developing and executing company strategy for sales, marketing and product development.

Anderson was recognized for both his personal charitable activities and for leading Tempur Sealy’s corporate philanthropic activity.

He has held leadership roles in civic and religious organizations and has led youth mission trips in the U.S., Belize and Costa Rica.

Anderson also leads Tempur Sealy’s corporate philanthropy efforts, including the donation of more than 150,000 mattresses over the past several years to charities across the country. National organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society Hope Lodges, Boys Town and many others have received donations from Tempur Sealy. The company also donates multiple truckloads of mattresses to military special ops forces each month, as well as supporting many Lexington-area shelters and charities. The Tempur Sealy Foundation supports children’s charities in Central Kentucky with financial assistance.

“It was an honor to receive the American Heritage Award from the Anti-Defamation League, an organization I greatly respect,” Anderson said. “While my personal commitment to supporting worthy causes is important, I am even more proud of being a part of the great work that Tempur Sealy is doing across the country. ‘Doing the right thing’ is truly in Tempur Sealy’s DNA and it’s very rewarding to help bring a great night’s sleep to people who deserve it.”
