LBAR announces membership agreement with Madison County Board of Realtors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 6, 2018) – The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) and the Madison County Board of Realtors (MCBR) have executed a mutual agreement to consolidate their realtor memberships. Seventy (70) realtors from Madison County will be joining LBAR, immediately paving the way to include four new counties: Estill, Lee, Madison, and Owsley among the 22 counties already in LBAR’s jurisdiction, pending approval by the National Association of Realtors.

John Groft, president of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors said, “This new membership consolidation will allow LBAR to create maximum value for our realtor members bringing additional data into the Multiple Listing Services which will allow the region’s realtors to work even better together and to become more productive.”

According to information provided by LBAR’s Multiple Listing Service (MLS), the Madison County year to date January 2018 to May 2018 sales have increased 16 percent with 510 sales in 2018. Median sales price has increased 6 percent to $167,250; days on market has increased 5 percent to 60 days. Ten percent of the total transactions in the MLS year-to-date are in Madison County.

Adding to the wide variety of expertise, qualifications and skills currently exemplified by the governing body of LBAR, Kae Schennberg, president of the Madison County Board of Realtors, will join the LBAR board of directors. Schennberg added, “We are excited to join the LBAR Realtor family.  LBAR has a rich history in the community, capable of supporting the Realtor Code of Ethics, playing a political advocacy role, conducting outreach to consumers, maintaining fiscal responsibility, operating a successful consumer website, and providing an outstanding support and training staff for our local area Realtors.  Although our Madison County Board of Realtors office will close at the end of August, our local realtors will continue to serve Madison, Estill, Lee, and Owsley counties through our new MLS, LBAR.  We promise to continue serving all of our local real estate customers with the same dedication to real estate service in partnership with LBAR.”
