KCTCS announces new chancellor

Dr. Kristin Williams

VERSAILLES, Ky. (July 11, 2018) – Dr. Kristin Williams has been named chancellor of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) effective August 16. She is no stranger to the system. Williams currently is president of Henderson Community College, has served as interim president of Hazard Community and Technical College and was chief academic officer at Hopkinsville Community College. Prior to joining KCTCS, she was vice president at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fl.

“I’m pleased to have someone with so much experience with our colleges serve as chancellor,” said KCTCS President Jay K. Box. “Dr. Williams understands our students, our programs, our faculty and staff and the goals we’re working toward. She’s a big believer in our mission and is very student focused.”

The KCTCS chancellor is the chief academic officer for the system providing leadership, service and support for academic affairs, economic/workforce development, institutional research and effectiveness, distance learning initiatives and external collaborative relationships.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to contribute to KCTCS and the state of Kentucky on a larger scale,” Williams said. “The chancellor’s office oversees a number of high priority programs and services, so I’m looking forward to being involved in these areas on a statewide level.”

Williams has earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, a master’s degree in higher education leadership and a Ph.D. in educational leadership, all from the University of Florida.
