Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Bill Dunn has been appointed as Property Valuation Administrator for McCracken County.

  • Bill Dunn, of Paducah, is a realtor and senior IT engineer. He will serve until his position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.

Property Valuation Administrators (PVAs) are charged with assessing all property, both real and personal, located within individual counties.

Zachary Smith has been appointed to the Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council.

  • Zachary Smith, of Fort Thomas, is an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for Boone County. He will represent parents of children receiving services from child-care centers and serve for a term expiring June 24, 2021.

The Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council advises the Cabinet for Health and Family Services on matters affecting the operations, funding, and licensing of child-care centers and family child-care homes. The Council provides input and recommendations on ways to improve quality, access, and outcomes.

Jonathan Talmadge Curry, Roderick L. Searcy, Elizabeth R. Davisson, Carla T. Webster and Macy Knights have been appointed to the Employment First Council.

  • Jonathan Talmadge Curry, of Frankfort, is executive director for the Office of Autism. He will represent the Office of Autism and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
  • Roderick L. Searcy, of Owensboro, is vice president for community living options with Wendell Foster’s Campus for Developmental Disabilities. He will represent provider agencies and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
  • Elizabeth R. Davisson, of Louisville, is executive director for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Center. She will represent employers and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
  • Carla T. Webster, of Versailles, is a case manager with Conduent. She will represent employers and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020. 
  • Macy Knights, of Louisville, is an administrative assistant with Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers. She will represent persons with an impairment and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.

The Employment First Council works to ensure competitive and integrated employment in the community will be considered the first and primary option for persons with disabilities who want to become employed. Administered by the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute (HDI), the Council serves as an advisory body of state government.

Betty Barnes Cook has been appointed to the Judicial Conduct Commission.

  • Betty Barnes Cook, of Somerset, is a family home provider for special needs. She will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2020.

The Judicial Conduct Commission is the only entity authorized under the Kentucky Constitution to take disciplinary action against a sitting Kentucky judge. The Commission investigates and reviews complaints against judges and, when warranted, conducts hearings regarding the alleged misconduct where evidence is presented.
