Louisville apartment complex, Vieux Carre, sells for $22.5 million

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2012) — The Vieux Carre Apartments at Hurstbourne Parkway and Shelbyville Road has been sold for $22.5 million, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.

A deed, executed Aug. 31, shows the new owners as Hurstbourne Multifamily Partners of Nashville.

All of the apartments in the 326-unit complex, built in the 70s, are occupied and recently were upgraded with new kitchens, the paper reports. Rent for the apartments reportedly ranges from $755 to $1,100.

“As the single-family housing market continues to struggle, well-located rental communities are attracting more affluent tenants by upgrading existing facilities to meet the increased demand from high-paying renters,” said Louisville broker Aaron Johnson of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, which represented the seller, the Infinity Group of Chicago.
