University of Louisville launches online master of business administration program

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville is launching an online master of business administration (MBA) program, offered through the College of Business.

The new online program, which begins this fall, is designed for working professionals and includes an optional 10-day international study trip, innovative electives and certificate opportunities in areas such as franchise management.

“This is a unique and exciting MBA program because it is built on what makes Louisville Louisville,” said Todd Mooradian, dean of the College of Business. “Our MBA students have the option to customize their degree with one of our industry-based certificates that focus on the unique expertise required by local industries. And, the online platform enables professionals working in those industries to access the program from wherever they are in the world.”

Students can complete the program in five semesters (or less with dual-status) and have the opportunity to engage with world-class faculty with extensive industry backgrounds and leadership experience to develop business skills and advance their career.

The 10-day international study trip is a distinguishing feature of the new online MBA program. Students will have the opportunity to experience global business firsthand through cultural immersion activities and business visits with varying companies and industries.

The launch of the online MBA program is part of a university-wide effort to provide flexible in-demand degrees that serve working adults and the professional community. UofL currently offers 33 online programs. The College of Business’ online franchise management certificate, the first in a series of specialized certificate programs designed to support growth in key industries unique to Louisville, begins in February.

“We continuously strive to launch innovative and career-focused programs that benefit adult learners and the community,” said Gale Rhodes, vice provost and executive director at the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning. “Partnering with the College of Business to bring this unique MBA offering online is just the next step in our commitment to excellence in online higher education.”
