Lexington arts and sciences center up for funds in national online contest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2012) — The Living Arts & Science Center is the only Kentucky organization on the leader board in the Chase Community Giving national challenge.

In an online voting competition presented by J.P. Morgan Chase, the Living Arts & Science Center (LASC) is now ranked No. 141 from among over 7,000 national non-profit organizations. The LASC is the only Kentucky organization with enough votes to be included on the national leader board.

If a ranking above No. 196 is maintained by the Living Arts & Science Center through Sept. 19, at 11:59 p.m., the LASC will receive a grant for at least $10,000. A higher ranking could earn the organization $20,000 to $250,000. One hundred to two hundred new votes are needed each day to stay in the running.

It is engaged in a capital campaign, IMAGINE THIS, to raise funds for expanding and renovating their facility in downtown Lexington.
