Bowling Green Chamber sells out inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce sold out the first ever WE3 Women’s Leadership Conference.

The conference, sponsored by Graves-Gilbert Clinic, was held Tuesday at The Charleston, where 150 business women and special guest speakers enjoyed a lite breakfast, networking lunch, and walked away with posh gift boxes containing items from local businesses.

The WE to the Power of Three Women’s Leadership Conference was created to inspire and empower women in the South Central Kentucky business community. Four women business leaders spoke about women’s engagement and empowerment in the workplace, including Gigi’s Cupcakes founder, Gigi Butler serving as the event’s keynote speaker. She shared the stage with Anne Murray a consultant and coach also known as “The Fun Speaker”, Christy Smallwood with Eagle Eye Strategies, and Dr. Milli McIntosh with Simpson County Schools.

The event’s mission was to “Empower, Enlighten, and Engage” and encouraged women to go out and make a positive change in their world of business.

“Today was about inspiring the women of Bowling Green to take positive steps in their careers, by giving them the tools and guidance they need to succeed,” said VP, Partnership Services Maureen Carpenter. “This event would not have been possible without our sponsors, speakers, and local vendors who stepped up to make today what it was. We are so thankful for all who came together to encourage the women in business in our community.”

In her luncheon message, Gigi spoke about her experience in building the largest cupcake franchise in the country, Gigi’s Cupcakes. Her message inspired overcoming failure, taking risks, fostering a drive and ambition for business, and dreaming big.
