Castlen Steel celebrates ribbon cutting for Smiths Grove facility

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Castlen Steel, LLC, along with company representatives and officials from Warren County, the City of Smiths Grove, and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce gathered Tuesday to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Castlen Steel’s newest facility located at 175 Vincent Street.

“We are very excited to take this time to say thank you to our customers and showcase the investment that we have made,” said Castlen Steel Owner and President Matt Castlen. “The City of Smiths Grove and its residents have been very good to us, what a great place to locate a business. Three short years ago we were selling steel and it and has taken off at a very fast pace. Our customers are the best! The growth would not be possible without them supporting local businesses like ours. We are blessed beyond measure. The Chamber has been great for us and a big shout out to the City County Planning Commission, with all that is going on in Warren County they are on top of it and great to work with. ”

Castlen Steel began when Matt Castlen and his wife Laura found their niche in welding projects for agriculture jobs. As their company continued to expand and grow, they included more industrial projects. In 2012 a new facility was built to house bigger fabrication equipment for larger projects. Castlen has over 100 employees company wide, including welders, millwrights, engineers, and electricians, with 13 employees at their Smiths Grove location.

The ribbon cutting celebrates a 9,000 s.f. expansion to their facility in Smiths Grove which will improve their fabrication capabilities. They have also added to their fleet of cranes to support lifting and rigging. This expansion will help them take on larger projects for their customers.

“Congratulations to Castlen Steel on today’s ribbon cutting celebration,” said Chamber President and CEO Ron Bunch. “This new facility will allow them to ship more products efficiently. We are proud that Castlen Steel continues to call South Central Kentucky home.”

“We are always proud when local companies like Castlen Steel continue to grow in Warren County,” said Warren County judge-executive Mike Buchanon. “They have been a wonderful member of our business community. We congratulate them on their expansion and look forward to many more years of success here.”

“We are happy to join Castlen Steel in celebrating the ribbon cutting of their latest expansion here in Smiths Grove today,” said Smiths Grove Mayor David Stiffey. “Congratulations to them on this project and their continued success in our community.”
