Platinum Equity, the parent company of Hebron-based Pomeroy IT Solutions Inc., is combining Pomeroy with OAO Technology Solutions Inc. to create a single global IT solutions provider.

The combined businesses will operate as Pomeroy IT Solutions and will be headquartered at Pomeroy’s existing facilities in Northern Kentucky.

“Pomeroy and OAO are both recognized industry leaders with unique and complementary product and service offerings,” said Jacob Kotzubei, the partner at Platinum who is leading the combined Pomeroy and OAO investment. “This combination makes perfect sense and will create new opportunities for each company’s clients, business partners and employees.”

Kotzubei noted that long-term growth potential was the driving force for bringing the two companies together.

Platinum acquired Pomeroy in November 2009 through a public-to-private transaction and acquired OAO in January 2010.

“The combination of our two companies is an excellent opportunity to broaden our services portfolio and to expand our global reach,” said Christopher C. Froman, Pomeroy’s president and CEO. “With offices in the U.S., Canada and Europe, we are in a better position to serve the needs of our clients.”

The newly combined company has 3,600 employees, approximately 800 of whom work in the Northern Kentucky area. The company is also in the process of adding another 80-100 jobs at its global service center in Hebron to support a number of new contracts.

Financial details about the merger have not been released.
