Pacific Pulmonary Services is hiring 40 full-time employees to staff a Lexington customer service center that will open later this year. The company provides home oxygen and respiratory medications equipment and services as well as sleep therapy equipment and services.
Connected Patients, a start-up medical technology company, has received $100,000 from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development’s High-Tech Investment Pool to help further the company’s expansion. The Lexington-based company is developing user-friendly, bed-mounted computer terminals for use in hospitals that enable patients to access the Internet and email; information about their medical condition; and entertainment content such as games, music and movies. Hospitals will be able to use the terminals to access electronic medical records and order medications and treatments.
