Governor Beshear makes appointment to Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 20, 2012) – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointment to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Recreational Trails authority to serve for terms expiring Aug. 22, 2015:

• J. Patrick Collins, of Louisville, is the technology project manager at Humana. He represents Kentucky bicycle organizations.

• Walter Preston McLain, of Evarts, is retired. He represents ATV associations.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Ronald L. Jackson to the Motor Vehicle Commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 1, 2014.

• Ronald L. Jackson, of Frankfort, is retired. He represents automobile wholesalers. The appointment replaces James D. Sims, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Thomas J. Nieman to the State Board of Examiners and Registration of Landscape Architects to serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2015. This order is effective Feb. 2, 2012.

• Thomas J. Nieman, of Lexington, is a professor of landscape architecture at the University of Kentucky.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Financial Institutions Board to serve for terms expiring Oct. 10, 2015:

• Joseph P. Roberts, of Lexington, is an agent at Roberts Insurance. He represents the broker/dealer securities industry. The appointment replaces Kevin P. Walsh, whose term has expired.

• James Dale Sights, of Henderson, is the president at The Bank of Henderson. He represents the banking industry. The appointment replaces Katherine R. Capps, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Charles Beach III, of Beattyville, to the board to serve for a term expiring Oct. 10, 2015.

• Charles Beach III is the vice president at Peoples Exchange Bank. He represents the banking industry.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Perryville Battlefield Commission to serve for terms expiring May 15, 2015:

• Alan E. Hoeweler, of Perryville, is the owner of Aluminum Extruded Shapes. He represents the public at-large. The appointment replaces John C. Roach, whose term has expired.

• Julie Clay, of Perryville, is a graphic designer for The Student Loan People. She represents local property owners in the city limits. The appointment replaces Shelly Richardson, whose term has expired.

• Harold E. Edwards, of Perryville, is a sales representative at Howard-Carpenter Flooring. He represents the public at-large. The appointment replaces Charles Rowland, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed David R. Hereford to the commission to serve for a term expiring May 15, 2015.

• David R. Hereford, of Lexington, is retired. He represents the public at-large.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee to serve for terms expiring July 22, 2013:

• Michael G. Daly, Sr., of Fort Thomas, is the chief of police for Fort Thomas. He represents the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police. The appointment replaces John M. Ward, whose term has expired.

• Doyle N. Friskney, of Lexington, is an administrator at the University of Kentucky. He represents the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. The appointment replaces Pamela A. Collins, whose term has expired.

• William Earl Marcum, of Murray, is the Calloway County sheriff. He represents the Kentucky Associated of Counties. The appointment replaces Ted Collins, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the committee to serve for terms expiring July 22, 2013:

• Stephen B. “Mitch” Mitchell, of Louisville, is a 911 system coordinator for Louisville Metro Government. He represents the Kentucky Chapter of the National Emergency Numbers Association.

• Thomas Wayne Wright, of Versailles, is the sheriff of Woodford County. He represents the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association.

• Rebecca A. Hopkins, of Covington, is the IT director for the City of Erlanger. She represents the Kentucky League of Cities.

• Michael E. Gribbin, of Lexington, is an assistant fire chief with Lexington Fire and Emergency Services.

• Bob Hammonds, of Versailles, is the director of crisis management for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed MaryLee Perry Underwood to the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs to serve for a term expiring Dec. 20, 2015.

• MaryLee Perry Underwood, of Lexington, is the staff attorney for the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Karen Craig Ogle to the State Board of Physical Therapy to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

• Karen Craig Ogle, of Georgetown, is a physical therapist and the director of rehabilitation services at Central Baptist Hospital. The appointment replaces Ronald J. Barbato, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Technical Education Personnel Board to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2015:

• James G. Preston III, of Richmond, is an instructor at the Lincoln County Area Technology Center. He represents the Lincoln County Area Technology Center. The appointment replaces Sheryle L. Guess, whose term has expired.

• David T. Beach, of Versailles, is the acting executive director at the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. He represents the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The appointment replaces Cora L. McNabb, whose term has expired.

• Jare L. Schneider, of Lexington, is a division director for the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. She represents the Office of Employment and Training. The appointment replaces James L. Beyea, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2015:

• Larry D. Fetters Jr., of Maysville, is a State Career and Technical Education teacher. He represents the Mason County Area Technology Center.

• Christopher H. Smith, of Louisville, is the executive director of the Office of the Blind. He represents the Office of the Blind.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Tracy Goff-Herman to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children to serve for a term concurrent with the Governor.

• Tracy Goff-Herman, of Louisville, is a policy adviser for the Department of Education. She shall serve as the military family education liaison. The appointment replaces Christine Powell, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky River Authority to serve for terms expiring Sept. 18, 2015:

• Herbbie W. Bannister, of Frankfort, is an engineer at the Frankfort Plant Board. He represents experts in water quality. The appointment replaces Donald C. Haney, whose term has expired.

• James L. Kay, of Versailles, is a farmer. He represents counties adjacent to the main stem of the Kentucky River. The appointment replaces Thomas P. Hazlette, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Board of Nursing:

• Jimmy T. Isenberg, of Glasgow, is an associate professor of nursing at the Bowling Green Technical College – Glasgow campus. He represents the Kentucky Association of Licensed Practical Nurses. The appointment replaces Christina C. Caldwell, who has resigned. Isenberg shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2014.

• Nicholas E. Hammonds, of Morehead, is a registered nurse at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He represents registered nurses from the Kentucky Nurses Association. The appointment replaces Elizabeth Partin, whose term has expired. Hammonds shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

• Makeda Harris, of Louisville, is a public health administrator at the Louisville Health Department. She represents citizens at-large. The appointment replaces Jann Gilliam, whose term has expired. Harris shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

• Kelly R. Jenkins, of Waverly, is a registered nurse and the manager of ICU and telemetry units at Methodist Hospital. She represents registered nurses who are a nurse service administrator from the Kentucky Organization of Nursing Leaders. The appointment replaces Cheryl Hickman, whose term has expired. Jenkins shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Timothy M. Mulloy to the Board of Directors of the Louisville Arena Authority Inc. to serve for a term expiring Jan. 9, 2015.

• Timothy M. Mulloy, of Louisville, is the CEO at Peritus Public Relations. The appointment replaces Lawrence J. Bisig, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy:

• Katherine C. Warner, of Fort Thomas, is a massage therapist. She represents licensed massage therapists. The appointment replaces Theresa M. Crisler, whose term has expired. Warner shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

• Thomas Hansen, of Petersburg, is a massage therapist. He represents licensed massage therapists. The appointment replaces Michael P. Mansfield, whose term has expired. Hansen shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Max A. Maxwell to the Board to serve for a term expiring July 16, 2013.

• Max A. Maxwell, of Louisville, is the president and owner of Maximum Results Agency. He represents citizens at-large.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Nina S. Coyer to the Kentucky Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2015.

• Nina S. Coyer, of Lancaster, is an assistant professor at Eastern Kentucky University. She represents certified practicing interpreters. The appointment replaces Artie Grassman, whose term has expired.
