Boone County hires engineer/director of public works

BURLINGTON, Ky. — Robert Franxman was appointed to the position of county engineer/ director of public works at the Nov. 12 meeting of the Boone County Fiscal Court.

Franxman is a registered professional engineer with more than 19 years of experience in transportation construction, maintenance and project development. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky and has filled a variety of positions with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 6 Office, over his career.

His most recent role with KYTC was engineer specialist, responsible for coordination and development of large, statewide capital improvement projects.

“I am very happy to have Rob join our Boone County team,” said Judge/Executive Gary Moore. “Rob brings the right type of experience and has demonstrated to be a proficient planner which will help us address the challenges of our growing county.”

County Administrator Jeff Earlywine said Rob was the county’s top-rated finalist from a strong pool of approximately 20 applicants. “Rob’s deep knowledge of transportation issues and commitment to customer service make him a great fit for our organization,” said Earlywine.

Franxman is a lifelong Northern Kentucky resident and lives in Independence.
