Lexington Marriott City Center names chef of Infinity: Skybar

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Jonathan W. Henderson has been named chef of the Infinity: A Skybar & Café, Lexington Marriott City Center hotels announced Wednesday.

Henderson will be guiding the Infinity team through producing the menu and providing an excellent culinary experience to guests.

“Jonathan’s vast experience and knowledge he has gained from training all over the country will allow him to bring a unique vision to this team and our hotel that you won’t find anywhere else in Lexington. His passion to excel is second to none,” said Chef TJ Harville, executive chef of Lexington Marriott City Center hotels.

Native of Lexington, Ky., Henderson attended Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, S.C. and was the top graduate of an advanced culinary arts and an advanced pastry arts degree program.

With over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality business Henderson’s background includes experience at Kiawah Island Resort at the Sanctuary awarded 5 star/5 diamond, also the 4 Diamond awarded Atlantic Room, Turtle Point and Osprey Point.

He has traveled as a chef and worked in Napa Valley in banquets and as a farm hand in the vineyard at Robert Mondavi, Kendall Jackson and Matanzas Creek Winery. He was fortunate to receive a demi chef residence working for Thomas Keller at the French Laundry in Yountville, Calif.

Henderson spent most of his early culinary career working in New Orleans as an executive sous chef for the Intercontinental Hotel, and The Westin at Canal Place. He has a passion for Kentucky Proud products and works in conjunction with local farms and producers in the region supporting and promoting local community-based agriculture.

“I am very excited to start a new venture with Marriott and have the chance to work with an amazing culinary team,” said Henderson. “My philosophy of cooking boils down to 4 points: ingredients, technique, execution and most importantly consistency.”

Henderson currently lives in Versailles, Ky. with his wife Lyndsey and their three children, Mya, Landry and Beckham.
