Jackson Kelly PLLC elevates four attorneys to firm member

CHARLESTON, W.V. — Jackson Kelly PLLC has announced that the firm has elevated attorneys Brittany J. Alston, Nicklaus A. Presley, Jeffrey R. Soukup, and Sandra K. Zerrusen to member, all effective Jan. 1, 2020.

Ellen Cappellanti, managing member, congratulated the newly promoted attorneys, “I am thrilled to introduce our new Members. Jackson Kelly takes great pride in all our lawyers, and this elevation to Member is just one way to demonstrate achievement and responsibility. These promotions are well deserved.”

Brittany J. Alston

Brittany J. Alston practices out of the Firm’s office in Morgantown, West Virginia. She is a member in the Energy and Oil & Gas industry groups, focusing primarily on business law and real estate. She currently serves as a board member of the Northeast WV Chapter of the American Red Cross. Alston also chairs its BioMed Committee, in which she acts as liaison with the District Blood Services team to coordinate efforts in partnering and fundraising.

Nick Presley

Nicklaus A. “Nick” Presley practices out of the Firm’s office in Charleston, West Virginia. He is a member in the Renewable Energy and Utilities industry groups, focusing primarily on utility regulation. Presley earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and his Master of Business Administration degree from the Marshall University Graduate School of Management. Realizing he wanted to use his education and passion for learning to help others, Presley entered law school at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and earned his law degree in 2013.

Jeffrey R. Soukup

Jeffrey R. Soukup practices out of the Firm’s office in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a member in the Business Law practice group, focusing primarily on litigation and appellate work. While in law school at the University of Kentucky, Soukup served as the managing editor of the Kentucky Law Journal, was selected for publication in the journal’s 2006-2007 volume, and was awarded the prestigious Stoll Keenon and Park Scholarship for Outstanding Service to the Journal.

Sandra K. Zerrusen

Sandra K. Zerrusen practices out of the Firm’s office in Akron, Ohio. She is a member in the Construction and Energy industry groups, focusing primarily on commercial litigation and class action and complex litigation. Her experience expands to representing businesses and shareholders in business disputes involving contract litigation, dissolutions, and fiduciary obligations. In the oil and gas industry, Zerrusen has experience handling complex litigation, construction, transaction, and title curative matters, including the resolution of mineral rights disputes under the Ohio Dormant Minerals Act.
