U.S. 60/KY 80 closed after cargo ship strikes bridge deck; Resort parks remain open, direct motorists to alternate routes
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 27, 2012) – Guests traveling to Lake Barkley and Kenlake State Resort Parks should be aware that the U.S. 68/KY 80 bridge over Kentucky Lake is closed to traffic. It was struck Thursday night (Jan. 26) by a cargo ship, destroying a main truss.
Both parks are open. Guests should use alternative routes, such as Interstate 24 on the northern end of the Land Between the Lakes.
