Louisville Water creates video to highlight importance of hand washing during COVID-19

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — What’s the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs and stay healthy?  Hand washing. Louisville Water Company has created a jingle and video that will help remind kids and adults of the proper way to wash hands.

“Hand Washin Germ Stoppin” features Tapper, Louisville Water’s mascot and a 20-second song that promotes the importance of soap, water and a good scrub. Louisville Water’s product, Louisville pure tap is essential for overall health and hand washing, but it’s especially critical in minimizing the spread of the Coronavirus.

In addition to the video, Louisville Water’s website will include a simple science experiment to show how germs spread and educational resources for parents and teachers. All materials were developed to follow the Centers for Disease Controls recommendations for hand washing and public health.

Hand Washin Germ Stoppin complements Louisville Water’s education program that reaches thousands of students annually with a hands-on curriculum. One of the lessons is a hand washing experiment. Louisville Water came up with the idea after an increase in requests for the hand washing program. When the utility couldn’t accommodate the asks, the marketing team created the video to help spread the message.

Louisville Water hopes parents and kids will watch the video, share with friends and family and then properly wash their hands and stay healthy.
