BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Hardin Memorial Health Medical Group – Bardstown Family Medical Center received a donation Wednesday for personal protective equipment (PPE) from Louisiana-Pacific Corp., an American building materials manufacturer, based in Nashville, Tenn. The clinic received 320 N95 masks and more than 3,000 gloves to help front-line caregivers treating and testing potential COVID-19 patients.

The donation came after Dr. Holly McCoy shared the need for the PPE with her father-in-law Dustan McCoy, who serves on the board of directors for Louisiana-Pacific. McCoy reached out to the building materials manufacturer to see if they could help. They rounded up masks and gloves and arranged for delivery.

“We need this equipment to help protect our doctors and nurses and patients and staff from this COVID-19 pandemic,” said McCoy.  “Louisiana Pacific heard about our needs and immediately sprang into action, sending us masks and gloves and gowns. It’s wonderful to see one community helping out another like this.”

The in-kind donation was arranged through the HMH Foundation. The community is encouraged to show their support of front-line healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic by donating to the HMH Foundation’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund at ourhmh.org/online-donations. All gifts will directly benefit HMH caregivers.
