New NKU president to share vision for future at chamber breakfast

FT. MITCHELL, Ky. (Oct. 12, 2012) – The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will host Geoffrey Mearns, new president of Northern Kentucky University during its monthly Eggs ‘N Issues breakfast Oct. 23 at Receptions Banquet and Conference Center in Erlanger, Ky.

Mearns, who became the university’s fifth president Aug. 1, will discuss his journey to NKU and his vision for the future of the University and our community.

With more than 15,000 students and 2,000 faculty and staff members, NKU plays a very important role in our community,” said Pam Mastruserio, VP of Special Events at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to be able to provide a forum for our community to come and meet him and to learn about his vision for the University.”

The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. with the presentation at 8 a.m. The cost to attend is $15 for pre-registered Chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Reservations can be made by calling 859-578-8800 or online at www.nkychamber.com.
