LEXINGTON, Ky. — Town Branch Park announced Tuesday that it has hired Ralph Coldiron to be the project coordinator.

Coldiron will oversee design and construction of Town Branch Park.

“It is even more apparent now than before that public parks and green spaces are critical infrastructure that connect, uplift and heal our communities.  This is an important next step to continuing the momentum and vision of Town Branch Park,” said Allison Lankford, executive director of Town Branch Park. “Ralph brings a wealth of experience overseeing high-profile downtown projects and we are excited to have him on our team as we begin the next key phase of the project.”

Most recently, Coldiron spent three years as project coordinator for City Center, a $265 million multi-use, full block redevelopment project in downtown Lexington.

Coldiron, who has a master’s degree in public administration from Eastern Kentucky University, also has held senior leadership positions for a variety of Lexington businesses and organizations, such as Centex Engineering & Construction, Equestrian Events Inc. (Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event), Lexington Professional Baseball Co. and Gray Construction.

“I’m excited about having the opportunity to work with the Town Branch Park board and staff,” Coldiron said. “We are building one of the most premier urban parks in the United States. We have great partners in the Central Bank Center and LFUCG – both of which are instrumental in this process. It’s a huge team effort among the board, government, fund-raisers and others who have helped get this effort off the ground. We will continue to work with the community to continue to get input on the design and park plans. I understand how important this project is to downtown and the entire community. It’s an exciting time for Lexington and for Town Branch Park.”
