LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 2, 2012) – The Board of Directors of the Louisville Downtown Management District (LDMD) will host its annual meeting and awards dinner on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Ice House, 217 E. Main Street.
Networking and cocktails will begin at 5 p.m., and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring Dr. Donna Hargens, new Superintendant of Jefferson County Public Schools, as the Keynote Speaker. Local TV personality Tara Bassett will emcee the event, which will include the presentation of annual Cornerstone Awards, which are presented to businesses and organizations that have invested $1 million or more in downtown development during the past year. “The annual meeting is an opportunity to recognize and thank our many supporters and sponsors, as well as those who are investing in downtown Louisville,” explains Deb DeLor, LDMD executive director. “The year’s theme ‘The ABC’s of Downtown’ was chosen to compliment Dr. Donna Hargens as our speaker, who will highlight the importance of education to economic development in general, and to downtown in particular.”
