LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Congressman John Yarmuth, D-Louisville, announced Monday the hiring of Dana Mayton to serve as district director, where she will oversee operations and manage staff in the Congressman’s downtown and South End district offices.

Mayton previously served as deputy attorney general for the Commonwealth of Kentucky under then-Attorney General Jack Conway, Cabinet Secretary of the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet in Gov. Paul Patton’s administration, and in numerous other roles in government and at the University of Louisville.

Most recently, Mayton held the position of director of membership services for the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Dana joining my staff in such an important role as we continue to make constituent service and community outreach a top priority in our district,” said Yarmuth. “Anyone who knows Dana knows the level of dedication and detail she brings to every aspect of her work, and I know I can count on her expertise and the experience she has gained in decades of service to the people of our commonwealth. I look forward to her joining my already wonderful staff and hitting the ground running.”

Mayton will fill the position previously held by Nicole Yates. Yates, as was previously announced, has been named associate vice president of community engagement for Molina Healthcare in Kentucky.

Mayton begins in her new role Monday.
