LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kimberly Halbauer, who mostly recently was managing director of Fifth Third Private Bank in Cincinnati, becomes the bank’s first female president of the Kentucky region.

Halbauer’s career with Fifth Third spans more than 30 years. She has contributed to the success of each line of business, having led groups in retail banking, commercial banking and wealth and asset management.

Her community involvement spans both sides of the Ohio River, with leadership on boards in Kentucky and Ohio. She looks forward to moving with her family from Northern Kentucky to Louisville and to become the second female regional president in the Fifth Third organization.

Michael Ash has been promoted to regional president of Indiana. Ash began his career at Fifth Third in 2003 in Indianapolis, joining the commercial banking team. He quickly moved to roles of increased responsibility and in 2010 became the head of commercial bank and market president in Lexington, Ky. Shortly thereafter Ash was promoted to regional president in 2015.

Ash looks forward to returning to Indianapolis and welcomes the opportunity to reengage as a business and civic leader.
