Beshear makes appointments to state university boards

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky university boards of trustees and regents:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Ron Geoghegan and Raymond Daniels as members of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees. Gov. Beshear has also reappointed Robert Vance.

  • Ron Geoghegan of Louisville is a retired public affairs executive. He replaces Edward Brockman, whose term has expired. Mr. Geoghegan shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
  • Raymond Daniels of Lexington is the owner of Equity Solutions Group. He replaces Anthony Donahue, who was not confirmed. Mr. Daniels shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2025.
  • Robert Vance of Maysville shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Diane Porter and Alfonso Cornish as members of the University of Louisville Board of Trustees.

  • Diane Porter of Louisville is a retired educator. She replaces Bonita Black, whose term has expired. Ms. Porter shall serve for a term expiring January 12, 2026.
  • Alfonso Cornish of Louisville is a consultant for Closing the Gap Consulting. He replaces Ronald Wright, whose term has expired. Mr. Cornish shall serve for a term expiring January 13, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jan West and Currie Milliken as members of the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents.

  • Jan West of Louisville is an attorney for Goldberg Simpson, LLC. She replaces David Porter, whose term has expired. Ms. West shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
  • Currie Milliken of Bowling Green is the owner of Milliken Law Firm. He replaces Sheldon McKinney, who was not confirmed. Mr. Milliken shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2025.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Ken Perry as a member of the Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents.

  • Ken Perry of Bellevue is the owner of Ken Perry Realty. He replaces Terry Mann, whose term has expired. Mr. Perry shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Alan Long as a member of the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents.

  • Alan Long of Richmond shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Arthur Walker III as a member of the Morehead State University Board of Regents.

  • Arthur Walker III of Mt. Sterling is a contractor for Walker Construction. He replaces Kathy Walker, whose term has expired. Mr. Walker III shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Barry Martin as a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents.

  • Barry Martin of Lexington is the CEO of Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky. He replaces Marcia Roth, whose term has expired. Mr. Martin shall serve for a term expiring July 21, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Leah Adkins as a member of the Kentucky Authority for Educational Television.

  • Leah Adkins of Catlettsburg is a consultant. She replaces Brett Gaspard. Ms. Adkins shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2023.

Gov. Beshear has appointed John Dougherty, Catheryn Dykstra, and Gary Cox as members of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors.

  • John Dougherty of Louisville is an executive at Louisville Paving & Construction. He replaces Stephen Zeitz, whose term has expired. Mr. Dougherty shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2024.
  • Catheryn Dykstra of Louisville is the CEO of Family Scholar House, Inc. She replaces Michael Keck, whose term has expired. Ms. Dykstra shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2024.
  • Gary Cox of Lawrenceburg is retired. He replaces Gerald Plappert, who resigned. Mr. Cox shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 15, 2022.
