Modified Halloween in Brown Park in Louisville scheduled for October 24

Event presented by The Chamber of St. Matthews and The City of St. Matthews, moved to The Mall St. Matthews, made a drive-thru event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 2020 Halloween in Brown Park will look different this year. Taking extreme precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Halloween in Brown Park will not be held in Brown Park this year, but instead will be held on Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Mall St. Matthews.

This will be a fully touchless drive-thru experience for the attendees. At the beginning of the line, volunteers will attach padded hooks (high weight capacity) over the car windows on the driver’s side for the number of kids trick-or-treating per vehicle. Bags will be provided by Baptist Health, the event Title Sponsor. In addition, presenting sponsors are The Mall St. Matthews and Highlands Family Owned Funeral Home.

Enter off of Bowling Blvd. onto Sherburn Lane and St. Matthews Police Department and event volunteers will guide attendees through the lot to the event.

Vendors will fill pre-packaged candy or non-food items into the bags using gloved hands from booth to booth as the car drives. In order to limit contacts, we ask that all attendees stay inside the car at all times and that only the window where the candy bags will be hung is partially open.

There will be a limit of one car per family and it is recommended per the CDC and state guidelines that those inside the car are all from the same household. The event will also include the Teal Pumpkin Project items for any child with an allergy. This project is designed to offer non-food treats for trick-or-treaters who may suffer from a food allergy. All those participating in the project will receive a teal pumpkin sticker on their bag.
