Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant stops work because lack of parts

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ford Motor Co.’s Louisville Assembly Plant will shut down for one week because of issues getting parts needed to make its vehicles.  The shutdown, which will start on Jan. 11 and last until at least Jan. 17, reportedly will put about 3,900 hourly workers temporarily out of work.

Louisville Assembly Plant builds the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair SUVs. Ford’s Truck Plant in eastern Jefferson County has not been affected so far.
