Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2012) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

The governor has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 40th Judicial Circuit and the 60th Judicial District of Kentucky:

Helena Pitcock of Tompkinsville is retired. The appointment replaces Freddie G. Tooley, whose term has expired. Pitcock shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2014.

Steve U. Morgan of Albany is a banker at First & Farmers National Bank. The appointment replaces Sherry M. Riddle, whose term has expired. Morgan shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2014.

Gary R. Lee of Burkesville is retired. The appointment replaces John D. Walden, whose term has expired. Lee shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

Jarrett A. Stephens of Tompkinsville is the owner of J. Stephens Construction. The appointment replaces Truman J. Morgan, whose term has expired. Stephens shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Marlane Youngblood to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children to serve for a term concurrent with the Governor. Youngblood, of Elizabethtown, is a strategic planner for the Office of the Governor. She represents the executive branch as the compact commissioner. The appointment replaces Col. Mark D. Needham, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed David P. Calzi to the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts to serve for a term expiring April 29, 2016. Calzi, of Louisville, is an accountant at Ernst & Young. The appointment replaces Owsley Brown, who is deceased.
