Donald Trump ‘major announcement’ majorly mocked on Twitter

Donald Trump tweeted a “major announcement” today.

(Oct. 24, 2012) — Twitter is all a-tweet after Donald Trump announced his “major news” earlier today.

The billionaire developer and television personality tweeted a video saying he would give $5 million to a charity of President Barack Obama’s choice if the president would release his college records and passport application.

Trump called Obama the worst president ever and the least transparent president in U.S. history. The real estate mogul said his offer is a “deal that I don’t believe he can refuse, and I hope he doesn’t.” He said the records must be turned over by 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 and the check would be made within an hour after records are released.

“If he releases these records, it will end the question and indeed the anger of many Americans,” Trump said. “They’ll know something about their president. Their president will become transparent, like other presidents. I absolutely would be the most happy of all if I did in fact make this contribution through the president to these charities.”

Trump had promised a “bombshell” announcement. He even said his announcement could alter the course of the election. His following on Twitter grew in the hours before he released the video.

Since the release, Twitter been lit up with tweets mocking Trump.

“Direct your questions to Boston; he’s Romney’s biggest supporter,” Plouffe said, according to reports.

Trump called the response “amazing” and “overwhelming.”

Later, he tweeted, “Virtually all Presidents and candidates including John McCain, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush have released the requested records. Why not President Obama?”
